Through the www.ready.gov website, FEMA encouraged everyone in the nation back in July to have at least three days’ worth of supplies on hand in the event of a major disruption of services and supplies. Of course, for those who have followed this blog for years, you’ve known the importance of this for a long time. Even if you’re not a “doomsday” prepper or anticipate a “zombie apocalypse”, it is wise to have some supplies stored away. After all, what’s the motto of the Boy Scouts? “Be Prepared”.
Doesn’t mean you need a year’s supply of food or an underground bunker. But you should at least be ready with some sort of backup power supply, some long term food storage, a water supply that doesn’t depend on a municipal system, a good first aid kit, and LOTS of batteries.
My good friend Forrest Garvin who is the leader of Preppernet.com has an upcoming four part streaming podcast on this very subject. I encourage you to tune in. Click here for the details. The first one is this Wednesday, November 4th at 8 PM EST on the Preppernet Youtube Channel.
As those of us who live in western North Carolina, we learned from Hurricane Helene how important it is to have supplies on hand. It doesn’t have to be a cyberattack or rogue artificial intelligence agents. It can simply be nature doing its thing. The risks are very real and our federal government and military are taking serious notice (finally), and so should you.
If you have the financial means and ability, why not purchase your own bugout property or homestead here in our western North Carolina mountains. Doesn’t have to be a huge or expensive property, just something with plenty of natural resources and features to help you weather whatever storm comes our way. And if that storm never comes, guess what? You can enjoy using your property as a vacation spot or an investment for the long haul. Call us today to get started on the search.
